The place hat gave birth has already been pin pointed in southern Ethiopia, dont forget that Ethiopia and yemen were very well connected and actually were a unified state several times (firat time being the sabaean kingdom then the axumites), yemen doesnt even have the type of forests that allow for the native growth of coffee, not even at ancient times.

Not really, it was either the late axumites(who did control the areas where coffe originated) or the sultanet of shewa (an Ethiopian successor state of axum) they had a monopoly on the redsea trade while they existed and both of them werent Somali. The shewans were southern ethiosemitic speakers if u are wondering. they still exist(in central and southern ethiopia),although significantly depopulated by the oromo migration. they are overwhelmingly muslims but abyssinians/Ethiopians nontheless.
