@Xamari First of all these fighters are a special force given to regions by the federal government even their name "liyu hayl" is amharic they aee trained and armed by the government wont answer to the regional administration if the federal government said so , second the guy literally says he is protecting the border because the main army is in the north if they hated the country there would be no better opportunity to betray the country but they don't because unlike in ur headcanon where the somali region is somehow obsessed with joining somalia ,they do like Ethiopia.

@Wuss Restbrook Ethiopia is after math if axumite settlements in the horn of africa before amharas were even a thing, the first who had a vision of uniting habeshas and other ethnic groups after axum collapsed weremt amharas but a semi extinct habesha subgroup called harla sometimes they were muslims and thought based on ethnicity more than religion, they are arguably responsible for the creation of the country because if it wasnt for them yekuno amlak (the first solomonic) wouldn't have risen to power and his descendants wouldn't have reconqured what axum lost , ethiopian identity came into shape later by the actions of emperor amde tsion who spread amharic as a language for all ethnicities to interact the older more exclusive version of amharic sounds nothing like modern amharic and medieval amhara resemble modern amharas very little.

Didnt 700 get killed and captured while the rest retreated, u are forgetting that tplf is a much larger threat than alshabab, tplf had most of Ethiopias military equipment and a large portion of its economy, alshabab is pebbles comparsd to tplf so the Ethiopian arny cant be at two places at once, that's without counting the face off against sudan and the ones protecting gerd.
