The barbary pirates didn't capture europeans to sell into an "african" slave trade , barbary piracy is its own thing. it traded exclusively in european slaves captured from coastal regions of Europe even those as far britain and iceland, it has nothing to do with other slave trades of the african continent and certainly not with the Atlantic slave trade. And let's not forget that it lasted longer than the atlantic slave trade.
