@johnloman2098 Some RAF Mosquitos were equipped with a 57mm gun for attacking U-Boats, and had some success, until the U-Boats started shooting back. Several Mosquito squadrons were based at Banff, Scotland, for attacking German shipping around Norway with rockets. I have also read of Beaufighters using rockets on German shipping. Rockets were more accurate, and cheaper, than torpedoes. The C-47 and Bofors were both around during the war. I'm thinking they might not have tried to use the combination because the targets were shooting back, so a faster attack was called for.
