@brendonbewersdorf986 Salamis being about 100 feet shorter, and 30 feet narrower than Eagle, and 30 feet shorter, 30 odd feet narrower than Bearn, and the Germans not having the experience the UK obtained with Argus, Furious, and Vindictive, the amount of suckage a Salamis carrier conversion would exhibit would probably make the French say "whew Bearn isn't as bad as that thing the Germans have"

@TheBaldParakeet Basil Zaharoff was a notorious arms dealer during that period, and he was an agent for Vickers. I would not be surprised if he had a role in the sale to Chile.

@captainvladmir7535 the earlier drawings I have seen of USN scout cruiser proposals had the casemate mounts, and no turrets. Seems the turrets were a late addition to the concept.

@DIVeltro I don't recall seeing any post-Omaha light cruiser designs from the 1920s on the NHHC site. Friedman's book on cruisers might fill in that gap.
