@HumphreyHorsehead I would suspect the poo went into the water at sea. I think I have a pic, on my other computer, of the instruction plaque in the head of USS Silversides. Solid trash and garbage went off the fantail of the ship. When I was on the Lex, sometime during the day, the 1MC would bark "take all trash and garbage aft", and over the rail it went. Marine heads on pleasure boats used to discharge into the water too. I remember the rhubarb when pleasure boat owners on the Great Lakes had to install holding tanks, iirc in the late 60s. I used to ride passenger trains in the 60s. Their bathrooms dropped directly onto the tracks.
