  2. wrt Beatty and flash protection systems, some years ago, I read "The Grand Fleet". The book describes tests done after the war, which showed that the flash doors the RN was using were too weak. Test explosions blew the doors open. So, at Jutland, the crews could have been doing everything by the book, and been let down by inadequate design of the safety systems.

  3. Imagine what it is like inside Silversides in July. The LST in Muskegon also hosts scout groups, but only in the summer.
