@alanwilliams4443 a Flower class displaces about 900 tons. That puts them in the same range as a USN PCE, like the USS Havre, which I spent a weekend on, bouncing around Lake Michigan. Other ships of Havre's class have been called frigates in Dutch service, and Corvettes in Philippine service. The USN WWII PC is smaller, about 450 tons. I have found a case of a PC having it's ASW gear removed and reclassified as a PGM, aka gunboat.

@bkjeong4302 wouldn't it be a pretty safe assumption that every ship, of an existing type, is designed as a response to a design by a potential opponent?
