  1.  @calenedgar3722  given that bulkheads are pierced by pipes, electrical conduits and ventilation ducts, chance of fully dry compartments, after all these years, would be pretty slim. On the other hand, I remember watching a documentary about Arizona, years ago, maybe 91, where a diver looking over the wreck found a porthole with the glass not broken, and the steel cover had been closed before the ship sank. There was a bit of water at the bottom of the space between the porthole glass and the cover, but most of the space between the glass and the cover was still filled with air.
