Yes, $5.8B in Rivian, and another $2B for a greenfield plant in the US to build the Scout. And they apparently keep the administrative overhead of their redundant mass market brands, and all their vanity projects. In true McKinsey fashion, they take the money they want out of the line workers. VAG has two assembly plants in Mexico, one branded VW, the other branded Audi. Stellantis and Ford also have two assembly plants each in Mexico. Mexico has a free trade agreement with the EU. The incoming US administration has been threatening a 25% tariff on Mexican goods, in defiance of the free trade agreement the US has with Mexico. So, it would be natural for the Mexican plants to pivot to supplying the EU. The implications for the ex-Opel Stellantis plants in Eisenach and Rüsselsheim and the Ford plant in Cologne may be the same as for VW plants.
