  1. The US has been going through this for 30 years. Mexican autoworker pay is a tenth what US autoworkers are paid. It would be impossible to live in the US, on what a Mexican autoworker makes, because everything else, from housing to medical care, is so expensive. So there has been a steady flow of industrial jobs to Mexico and the Pacific rim. The offshoring of decent paying industrial jobs has resulted in social upheaval in the US, with some very ugly aspects. Now, the debate in the US is whether having a lower price on a new car, or TV, is worth the cost to US society. And Indian autoworker pay is so low, it makes Mexicans look rich.
