The problem is, the half of the country that supports Trump think they will come out on top in a fascist regime, where the "others" have no vote and no rights. Just like the Trump campaign ad that shows pix of Hispanic migrants and transexuals, saying "Harris is for them", then shows a pic of a white, hetero, family, and says "Trump is for people like you". A blatantly racist and homophobic appeal.
