  1. I have no problem with the SCOTUS deciding this issue. I am also reminded how fast the SCOTUS can act, when it wants to. In Bush v Gore, Bush turned to the SCOTUS on December 8. Justice Scalia granted a stay of the Florida court's order for a recount on the 9th. SCOTUS decided the issue on December 12th. So now, on an issue of at least equal importance and urgency, the court needs over a month to even hear arguments, and we don't know how long to issue a decision, when Bush v Gore was settled in 4 days.

  2. Or more to the point, his attempt to overthrow the government was an "official act", as if election results are only valid if the POTUS says they are.
