  1. I don't understand "pension funds" as a concept. It seems so alien to let the company run the retirement savings of people and that the company can cut them, ect. And that people have one legal protection.

  2. I think I heard somewhere that it was originally a sort of commentary on the ridiculously nature of this deals on a face value to a layperson kind of way. Similar to the original "pull yourself up" quote was.
