  1. Another problem of the interventions is that nobody seems to be reasoning about or even investigating post hoc their unintended side effects. Even the masks, which were supposed to be such an easy and cheap measure to adopt, regardless of evidence of their efficacy, are turning out to be causing outbreaks of aggression in some individuals not to mention the societal divisions among believers/non-believers and the day-to-day increased stress in both groups. Somehow, despite knowing that long-term sustained stress is harmful to health, nobody among the decision makers seems to care. Probably because they have been led to believe that it's a worth sacrifice and a "lesser evil", I suppose. But it's not been examined how great this evil really is. The initial decisions were basically based on assumptions pulled out of the ass by a couple of study authors unqualified to make them, without any consideration of sociological/psychological impact for such wide-reaching (if trivial) global behavioral changes. It's literally negligent experimenting on humanity, without even bothering to capture outcomes of the experiments.

  2. I should have also mentioned the moral hazards in enforcing such measures. What effects does it have on ethics of people, on trust in authorities etc etc. Nobody really knows, but it is a reasonable suspicion that these subtle effects are not pretty.
