Well, history proved him right since Leningrad didn't fall and kept almost the whole Army Group North tied up. Would be a shame to see all those forces in the Battle of Moscow. @remixsparten98 1. The Linux Foundation is not registered in the Russian Registry of foreign agents. As such, it is not considered a foreign agent in Russia. 2. Even being a foreign agent has nothing to do with allowing access to one's code base, resources or personal computers. It is grounds for some limitations regarding state operation like elections, environmental protection or organizing child education in government schools. 3. I've looked it up and 255-FZ seems about public insurance policy, not 'obligate control over foreign influence'. So, no, you seem to be spreading baseless alarmism mere.

Also, USSR didn't attack Poland with NZ, get your facts straight. Learning history on propaganda booklets isn't a good idea if your aim is to understand what's happening around you.

@remixsparten98 First, what you referred to before, does not ground this conclusion. Being a foreign agent just restricts some public relations and demands special markings. That is, even IF (and that's a huge IF) anything of the sort could be applied to Linux distribution maintainers. Since most of them are not citizens of Russia, in most cases it does not even apply. Second, censorship is applied to several very specific topics. Linux does not have those. Third, it does not dictate granting access to your computer, at least not in general. This applies to information providing services or people, not to software. E.g. Discord was blocked for not deleting some pages for Russian users, i.e. for content reasons and not being a software piece. So no, you are definitely incorrect. Also, OC isn't mine and refers to leaving access to contributors from another, exceedingly malicious state.

@TaiChor5Gates USSR could not have attacked Poland even in theory since by that time this nation was conquered by Germany and ceased to exist; its government in exile. And it took back what Poland has annexed from its Republics just a few years prior -- thanks to Molotov, Germany wasn't laying claim to these lands. Yes, lands with people subjected to ethnocide and other atrocities by Poland for several years straight, and who would have suffered even more as subjects of the Third Reich. But the most important thing here is that literally everyone around who knew anything about the matter was aware of that. Not you. And THAT is my point -- stop trying to educate yourself on propaganda booklets, it offers quick and incorrect answers instead of knowledge. This concerns any area, not only this one.

@TaiChor5Gates I have stated a few key things about what's happened in these times without artificially limiting field of view. These are plainly undeniable. You can't say Poland didn't invade and claim lands East of Curson line. You can't say Poland didn't prevent USSR aid to Czechoslovakia during German invasion. You can't state that US, France or Britain declared a war against USSR after it took its lands back. You can't say Britain and France didn't declare a war against Germany for attacking Poland. Those statements would be apparently and verifiably false. That alone should get you thinking of what people of the time knew and that perhaps you are misled in your reasoning. And yes, I do win a lot of arguments. No, this doesn't mean my opponents directly state they agree with me (or that they are wrong), human ego is usually insurmountable.

@TaiChor5Gates Like I have explained above, there could be no invasion of Poland after it being annexed by Germany. But again, that is a non-factor. USSR being held innocent by its peers, on the other hand, is. Arriving at different conclusions than world leaders of the time displays ignorance or negligence. Intended, I presume. That is the reason I recommended switching from propaganda booklets to more serious sources on the topic since you're so interested in it.

@vladlu6362 There's so much wrong in your comments I wouldn't know where to start. Just try to understand that FOSS is not a state to appraise and punish people for anything else than their code contribution. Even if good piece of code would be written by misanthrope and TV-head (like Linus obviously is) or even a serial killer working in some prison in Norway, that piece would still be valuable. Trying to enforce one's rotten and hypocritical morals onto FOSS will just cause it to lose people, steam and trust. It's happening already -- first GoDot, then this. And people with more than two brain cells see it's no good.
