TG: I think people are curious as to how the liberal seems to be living in such a fairly comfortable situation while still in pursuit of career success (since the video didn't show him doing any sort of work that we might believe was compensated). There are some reasons to be a little suspicious that we may not be getting the whole story about that guy.

PO: Yes. These masses of white nationalist conservatives are about as easy to find as conservative college professors who feel comfortable about using their right of free speech.

I think I could be friends with both, but I'm left not thinking the friendship with the liberal would have any real substance to it. If my car broke down, the conservative's first thought would be to see if he could offer me a ride. The liberal's would be to ask, "Why don't you just get an Uber?"

SA: The waif may be trying to stay "in shape," but he's obviously not used to a great deal of regular, physical exertion. The proof is in the fact that he couldn't do a single chin-up while tipping the scales at, what, maybe 140? I'm guessing most of his aesthetics are achieved via restricted eating.

I think we can say that - to some extent - both groups were done a bit of a disservice in this vid. But with only two people I guess you need stark contrasts.

i think that when you just have two people, you have to provide stark contrasts. So, the liberal has to be gay and the conservative has to work on cars and attend worship. But being gay doesn't make that one guy a liberal. The way he THINKS does. Maybe the intent of the video was to try to claim that the way people think is how they end up in these two lifestyles? The more you think, the less clear the intent.

I could easily be friends with either of these men, but I'm left thinking the friendship with the liberal would have less substance to it. If my car broke down, the conservative's first thought would be to consider if he could offer me a ride. The liberal's would be to ask, "Why don't you just get an Uber?" Maybe our reactions to these men depend on what OUR responses to that situation would be if we were on the other end of the connection.

If you have not yet done so, maybe some sort of approach where you compare the sorts of organizations/causes each person actively backs and, perhaps more importantly, personally participates in. In choosing these two men in the video, you are forced to have stark contrasts, so the liberal has to be a gay waif and the conservative has to be a Christian who works on cars. But the substantive difference lies in how they think. The liberal isn't liberal because he's gay, and the conservative doesn't work on cars because he's a Christian. Perhaps showing the causes/issues/organizations in which two people from opposite sides actively engage will more greatly reveal how their differing philosophies actually manifest themselves. Does the liberal talk about love and communication , then join the latest violent protest against Ben Shapiro speaking on a college campus? Does the conservative talk about following the ways of Jesus, then join his anti-Semitic hate group? Anyone can talk a good game. Maybe we would be better served in seeing a broader swath of the lives of people from two different sides of the spectrum.
