I think it’s great that Mr. Favre is speaking up about football head injuries. I completely agree with him that head hitting football should be replaced with flag football from 4 years of age to high school graduation.

It is customary for the host (of any talk show) to not surprise her guest with additional topics of conversation that have nothing to do with the topic the guest has agreed to come on the show to talk about. It would be interesting to hear from Mr. Favre about the Mississippi university funding scandal (for building a volleyball gymnasium where his daughter attends university) he was/is allegedly involved in, but I doubt he could talk about it. ps Use formal English when addressing a question in this type of format; for example, “Why we” becomes “Why are we,” and “coulda spoke” becomes “could have spoken.”

@buffdoc46 . Fuck off. Your premise was faulty and I called you out on it. I absolutely do not think any child is doomed to depression and taking drugs just because they choose not to be involved in sports.

@scubadaddy3217 . I absolutely said nothing about helicopter parenting or not allowing children to be in sports. I questioned the congruency between the extreme conclusion of not participating in football bringing about depression and drug usage. As if playing in sports is the magic formula for children/adults to not become depressed and use drugs.

To @haley2542: Exactly. We could all get killed driving via car crashes, but we all keep driving cars. However, children’s car safety seats are required. I agree with Mr. Favre that flag football should be the only type of football allowed in school age children.
