Aryans came to India not once but twice, one millenium apart, first wave around 5000 to 3000 BC and then again around 2000 BC. First from Irani region and second from central Asian regions. Tamil and Malayalam are both Dravidian languages that are closely related linguistically. Sanskrit is NOT. Take a page of Sanskrit article and a page of Tamil and give it to any Malayalee without any hindi background. If he read one letter from Sanskrit page except dots or hyphen I will do to what ever you say. I can assure you he will read at least few letter from the Tamil by matching ity and figures. You know who is pushing the narration of everything is Sanskrit and Sanskrit only in India. Malayalam have diverged from Tamil around 11 to 13th century as a separate language. Tamil has retained its linguistic purism, especially in formal and literary contexts but Malayalam have been influenced by many languages including, Sanskrit, Arabic, Farsi and European.
