@MegaChickenPunch what a bunch of fanboys here. Glad you found friends.

@mddunlap03 Intel might be a bit behind those days but they still got some design strengths and they have an excellent software team and they acquired quite a solid reputation. That's why despite very good products, AMD have difficulties to push through a lot of markets. This time this is not because or coercion. Also Intel have deep pockets and the amount of field they cover is way larger than AMD so they can perfectly manage losing a few battles here and there.

@bbbl67 no, really not that better with the recently launched Xeon gen. And in general, just including some specific Intel features in the application/service workflow like quicksync or their new encryption engine can heavily counterbalance the well-roundness of most of the AMD product line. Though what AMD needs the most is software support and reliability. That's better on CPU than GPU but still quite far behind the two giants.

@mytech6779 ARM did a bit better because the embedded nature of the products allowed OS to adapt from it. Performance and compatibility is a reason why Android uses Dalvik then ART instead of a more classic binary packaging. That's also why specific distros like Armbian or Raspbian were formed on top of the Debian work and why Arch or BSD are quite popular on ARM and RV devices. Add to this the huge library incompatibility with the vast x86 environment and you got why Apple took so long to make an ARM transition to their "desktop" environment (not iOS) despite a very secured marketshare.

great CPUs for mid/high gaming solutions and mobile ones. But their desktop parts are actually lacking in applicative, not that great in idle/light task power consumption and their low-end offer is not competitive at all. Same for High-end workstation, the new Threadripper is not the game changer it was before. Finally, their recent platforms seem very unfinished/unreliable, more than typical AMD style.
2
@GewelReal You and OP should consider those desktop platforms as more than a gaming station.
2
@rampage_sl you don't have to be biased to acknowledge that there are different scenarios (other than high-end rig dedicated for gaming) where what offers AMD is not always the best. The very different strengths and weaknesses of both brand portfolio lead more than ever to a case by case choice.

How the hell my comment has been removed?! How could it be even a tiny bit offensive? This channel is very very wild on how they moderate the comments. I'm sick of this.

@bbbl67 yeah AMD has nothing new or competitive on the lower end for basic business/enterprise mediacenter/thinclient solutions except some repurposed Phenix and Dragon Range laptop chips on mini-pcs and ITX boards whch kinda lacks on connectivity and Intel got plenty of those if not more. Selling more Epyc could be quite difficult since Intel responded with Emerald rapids.

@KlodFather Those anomalies with comments (as well as notifications) exist since the migration to Google+ accounts. Though from experience it always happens on some specific channels and not on my dozens of other subscriptions so I'm quite sure it's a matter of how strictly the moderation is configured on each channel
1
@KlodFather well, some comments are loosely shadowbanned and can be read either by using a web browser instead of mobile/TV app, or ironically by disconnecting from an account and go into public view (easily done by switching to a private mode window in a browser). So what you've experienced may be an app issue, at least partially. Though some users are shadowbanned more strictly (globally from a channel) so their comments are only visible to them. Channel owners have the possibility do that when they are butthurt. But when you cant see your own comment there is little to no chance to retrieve that (otherwise I would have copy-pasted it instead of complaining). In all cases, if the sum of comments is bellow the number displayed under the original post or under the video, it means some were made invisible.

@KlodFather I can be controversial but it's more a matter of providing a counterpoint like we do here or exposing bad rhetoric than being edgy or insulting. My phone runs LineageOS so Fdroid instead of GooglePlay. I use Newpipe which is great for read-only usage: no account, no interaction, local custom sub feed and playlists, background player and also supports Peertube. There is some others, mainly ports of Piped. Other than that when I type comments it's on my PC with a proper keyboard. I think most people have a love-hate relationship with the platform, both users and creators.
1
@KlodFather I'm getting heavily filtered right now. try newpipe on your phone.

@KlodFather As I told you, the moderation is pretty strong here. My last comments were deleted because I talked about YT alternatives on Fdroid. And your last comments are now only visible on a private mode window, not when logged in. (edit: they were invisible a couple hours ago but now it's back to normal… very strange)
1
@KlodFather It's not just YT, it's the content creator's fault too. Just a week ago, I complained on a channel about a weird automatic deletion and all my comments under the video reappeared in few hours when the channel owner woke up. Now I can tell this is definitively how the antispam filter is set up on each channel.

@Matt_The_Hugenot you mean chiplet approach, don't you? because the SoC architecture is pretty much what Intel have been doing too for decades of integrating more and more functions into the same chip.
1
@mytech6779 so pretty much the same downside of Risc based architectures. Clearly not what users want.
