@doodeedah6409 Yes he means dictionaries, as it's the usual argument of authority from prescriptive linguists and grammar nazis. Like the word aquarium, Latin words are often used in only one of their forms. This applies in casual speaking as well as in several other official languages.

Do you realize that those manufacturers you've cited also does low-power chips? Look closely at the TSMC chart displayed in the video. There is a choice to make between power draw and performance depending on the application targeted.

@kalliste23 No, I'm saying your affirmation on those chip makers lacks a lot of knowledge about what they offer and how nodes work in the entire scale. I don't care about speculating about SMIC capabilities, the video already argued fairly about that.

@doodeedah6409 I took aquarium as an example, there are many other words were the usage is not to follow Latin declension despite whatever dictionaries say is correct. Except one time with alumina, I have not encountered any other form than alumni so using it as invariable doesn't disturb me. That's already the norm in French tough.

@kalliste23 my point is exactly my first sentence: they design chips against certain requirements. So depending on those they change the microarch to met them, from the Intel Quark, Ryzen Embedded or Nvidia Jetson, up to the rendering server and workstation chips.

@kalliste23 what an ironic statement from the uneducated guy who've made some weak argumentation.
