  1. In the good ol' days there was no electric lighting but gas beaks on top of poles. And even before there was no public lighting at all. I absolutely do not regret low pressure sodium street lamps.

  2. LIBP, you didn't take the appropriate CRI or colour temp that's all. It's like saying fluorescent light is ugly because you only saw cheap or old ones. Technologies evolved, you can't make general statements like this when incandescent light are replaced even in the most demanding professional environments like art galleries. I doubt that you can make differences between those 3 light technologies with quality translucent bulbs of the same colour temperature without reading the references.
