But I really don't understand why you had to lock yourself in your apartment and feel miserable when all you had to do was ask for help? You should have just asked your colleagues where the stores with gluten-free food are, how to call a doctor, and so on. Asking for help is quite normal in Russia, Russians live as a community, not everyone for himself.
