Russian Defence Ministry report on the progress of the special military operation (23 March 2023)
The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the special military operation.
In Kupyansk direction, aviation and artillery of the 'Zapad' Group of Forces have engaged the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine close to Artyomovka (Lugansk People's Republic), Dvurechnaya and Berestovoye (Kharkov region).
The enemy's losses in this direction during the day amounted to 70 Ukrainian troops, one infantry fighting vehicle, two pickup trucks, one Grad MLRS vehicle, and one U.S.-made M777 artillery system.
In Krasny Liman direction, the ground-attack and army aviation, artillery and units of the 'Tsentr' Group of Forces have inflicted fire damage on enemy manpower and military hardware close to Chervonaya Dibrova (Lugansk People's Republic), Terny and Yampolovka (Donetsk People's Republic). More than 80 Ukrainian servicemen, two armoured vehicles, three pick-up trucks, and one D-30 howitzer have been destroyed during the day.
In Donetsk direction, units and artillery of the 'Yug' Group of Forces eliminated more than 250 Ukrainian troops, six tanks, five armoured fighting vehicles, seven motor vehicles, and one D-20 howitzer.
An ammunition depot of the 72nd Mechanised Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has been hit close to Lastochkino.
In South Donetsk and Zaporozhye directions, artillery and aviation of the 'Vostok' Group of Forces engaged the AFU units close to Ugledar and Novomikhailovka (Donetsk People's Republic)
As many as 50 Ukrainian servicemen, one pick-up truck, three motor vehicles, and D-20 and D-30 howitzers were neutralised in these directions during the day.
In Kherson direction, over 15 Ukrainian servicemen, five motor vehicles have been neutralised by fire.
Operational-Tactical and Army aviation, Missile Troops and Artillery of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have hit 76 AFU artillery units at their firing positions, enemy's manpower, and hardware in 114 areas during the day.
In addition, a fuel depot for military hardware of the 65 Territorial Defence Brigade was destroyed near Zaliznichnoye in (Zaporozhye region).
Fighter Aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces intercepted one Su-24 helicopter of the Ukrainian Air Force close to Boguslavka (Kharkov region).
Russian air defence forces have intercepted five HIMARS MLRS shells during the day.
In addition, 16 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles were intercepted in the areas of Zaliman, Kremennaya (Lugansk People's Republic), Vladimirovka, Vasilieyvka, Pavlovka (Donetsk People's Republic), Berestovoye, Lozovaya (Kharkov region), and Aleshki (Kherson region).

As usual, the propaganda channels like the Russian Dud and Dumbo Denys Davydov have the same content (is this supplied by Kiev?)! There is nothing to confirm that those tanks were going to Ukraine, or even from Russia! Maybe they were going for upgrading. 'Conflict Intelligence Team' is an anti-Russian propaganda platform, partnered with Euromaidan!
The same article also stated "Another analysis from the International Institute for Strategic Studies last month said Ukraine had likely lost more than 2,000 tanks." The Dud didn't mention that though! Ukraine HAD over 800 T62s before the conflict - not now!
Ukraine soon won't need artillery shells. Forbes recently confirmed that the UA only has about 300 artillery units left, mainly from Western countries, as they have lost nearly ALL the 1,000 they started with. Considering how many howitzers they lose PER DAY (see Daily Briefings. Russia has been targeting them for the last 2 months!), and that 1/3rd of them are in transit to and from Poland for barrel replacement, the UA will soon have to throw rocks instead!
Note that Japan gave 'non-repayable aid' - because Ukraine is bankrupt!
That drone could not continue to fly with a bent tip to one propeller blade? - Western equipment is SO much better!
Why do Ukrainians claim that the civilians and residential buildings were targeted, and won't admit these were missiles and drones they shot down? I forgot, lying is endemic for western Ukrainians, AND their supporters it seems!
Russia attacked the energy grid to disrupt the trains transporting weapons and troops to the frontline - nothing to do with 'freezing civilians' - more bullsh*t!
That ISW report "crypto mobilisation, for contract service ...to avoid declaring a second mobilisation wave" - Russia's conscription is EVERY April, the preference for 'contract' rather than 'conscript' troops was part of Russia's military plans announced in 2020! Many of last year's mobilised reservists have yet to be SENT to Ukraine, let alone be deployed there! Even more bullsh*t!
Russian commanders have confirmed their orders are for demilitarisation not territory gain. It's easier to demilitarise a town when you surround it on 3 sides (see Bakhmut or Avdiivka!).
Even the Kiev Independent, last week, published the independently researched and verified report by the BBC and Mediazona, showing Russian losses over the last year at 16,079 (one tenth of those claimed by the Kiev MOD!). Politico now quotes UA losses in excess of 100,000 dead! Michael Kofman from the CNA disclosed that virtually all the troops NATO trained over the last 9 years have all gone and the UA is dependent on newly trained conscripts.
The UA is unable to use that main road because of Russian artillery, and is having to use the small mud roads to the north! The UA leave their dead behind. Wagner has 'bagged and tagged' thousands!
