One of the main reasons the Germans herded the Jews into ghettos and camps was because in 1933, they declared war on Germany, with the stated intention of destroying the German economy and campaigned a boycott of German goods. So they were locked up when war came, largely to prevent them sabotaging Germany any further. Therefore, Whoopie is correct, it wasn't about race!
