20+ years ago, when I worked for the Benefits Agency (as it was called then), if an overpayment was because a claimant has failed to inform or incorrectly informed the agency, then it was recoverable. If an overpayment was as a result of an 'office error' it was not.

I have a certificate (MOT certificate) proving that my car complies with all the rules to drive on the roads of Great Britain. When did Sadiq Khan introduce appropriate legislation which cancelled the right (legal entitlement), which has been in place since 1135 to travel the highways of Great Britain? Even the Vehicle Excise and Registration Act 1994 (a statute) does not restrict this Common Law.

From the reports I've seen, by experts in the field, Electric Vehicles are nothing but trouble! From the mining of 250 tons of rare earth minerals to produce one EV battery, using an excavator and truck that use 1,000 litres of diesel in a 12 hour shift! From the reports from the fire services that an EV car which experiences a battery fire needs to be immersed in water for hours to stop it re-igniting. To the need to double the size of the electrical infrastructure to accommodate even a relatively small increase to the number of EVs in use. Charging one EV is equivalent to 25-50 fridges running in your house! Even if the number of EVs increased from the current 18m to 100m, it would only reduce the World's oil consumption by 10%. I'm hoping to squeeze another 10 years out of my '96 diesel 4x4. How many EVs or other vehicles, petrol or diesel, have come and gone during the last 27 years?

In September, Starmer did not decide not to use them (Storm Shadow), permission was refused. He'd even taken a list of targets with him, which would have been hit that night (Friday the 13th!). Medvedev has already threatened retaliation against Berlin if Germany give Taurus missiles to Kiev. A week ago, Russia conducted exercises in the English Channel with the hypersonic missile armed frigate Admiral Golovko, in response to Starmer's meeting with Macron, discussing provision of Scalp and Storm Shadow missiles to Ukraine. They still have not located the missile-armed Russian submarine lurking in the seas around Britain, since September.

A few years ago, I worked an agency contract for a company with both refrigerated and frozen warehouses in the Midlands. They supply many of the supermarkets. At the frozen warehouse, they accumulated up to 45 million frozen chickens mainly for the Xmas period. Most of those chickens came from China!

When I was 18/19, I got zapped doing 40 in a 30 mph zone (in an Austin A40!). This country road - now part of the M25 - had a row of cottages with two streetlamps outside - making it a 30 mph zone. The only road-sign was when coming from the other direction. From where I was stopped, I could have hit a 'national speed limit' sign with a stone! A £25 fine plus 3 points was a financial killer for a kid in the '70s. I've never had a speeding ticket since!

@alanharwood1636 He already has defeated Ukraine. Since the Cold War, Russia has ensured it has the capability to defeat NATO. Now that NATO has depleted its stock of weapons and ammunition, and Russia has modernised and ramped up its war economy, it would be a simpler task!

So far they've lost 33,670 troops plus 1,643 armoured vehicles in the Kursk area alone, in addition to the 15,000+ troops lost in the SMO each week! What does NATO have that is more capable than hypersonic missiles and Su57Ms? You forget that the objective of the SMO is demilitarisation not territorial gain - which is being achieved, even with 'Western support'! As Russia's advance is accelerating, the UA defence will struggle to hang on until the end of the year!

On 16th Feb, the OSCE recorded over 40 ceasefire violations, as the UA began shelling the people of Donbas, rising to more than 2,000 a day on the 20th, 21st and 22nd. On 24th Feb, as requested under Article 51 of the UN Charter, Russia stepped in to stop it. Russia has killed thousands of Ukrainian Army troops, who fight for the right to continue the genocide of the ethnic-Russians in Donbas! This Government sends money and weapons in support of Kiev. Boris Johnson even pressured Zelensky to walk away from peace negotiations in April 2021. Tice has nailed his colours to the wrong mast with this!

I don't know what has been said about Robinson, as it's a topic I keep clear of. I nonetheless think that Reform represents the ONLY chance this country has of digging itself out of the hole the current and previous MPs has forced the country into.

As usual, Nigel Farage is pointing out reality to people. The Referendum Party warned in 1997, Farage warned in 2016, and again he's pointing out now, that unless something is done to prevent it, by 2040, native Britons will be outnumbered. If we alienate that demographic, they will use their representation in Parliament to bring in things like Sharia Law. If you remember, he also warned that things would get worse if we ended up with a Labour Government. Hasn't he been proved right!!!

The system of every energy company I have been with over the last 20+ years has over estimated my 'predicted use'. This can not be accidental. I'm now with British Gas, who took over the customers when Bristol Energy went bust. I set up my Direct Debit to be 1/12th of my annual usage. This means there is a shortfall in payments during the winter, but a surplus during the summer. Despite the credit on my account increasing from £50 to £150 over the summer, B/Gas tried to increase my DD from £75/month to £120/month! The aim of energy companies is that customers pay for their energy IN ADVANCE, unlike the system years ago, when customers paid for what they'd used when the bill arrived i.e. IN ARREARS! They want YOUR money sitting in THEIR bank account BEFORE they get a bill from their supplier!

This year I increased the 'insured value' of my car. I've owned it for 19 years, though it spent the first 8 years of its life in Japan - so now 27 years old. The model is now quite rare and it would require more money for an equivalent replacement.

It may already be too late! There are reports of as many as 12 Storm Shadow missiles being fired into Russia. Russia said back in September that the response will not necessarily be against targets in Ukraine. Hypersonic conventional missiles might arrive at British military bases or airfields or even at the Storm Shadow manufacturing sites e.g. Bristol, Stevenage, Bolton or Beith in Scotland.

It was pure revenge! 2) fools like you think his violence is justified by what happened before. 3) As an armed officer, he is expected to be able to control his temper - he failed! In 10 years with the police, I have never seen a more justified case for dismissal and prosecution of an officer!

If that had been a member of the public who kicked and stamped on that man, he would have been arrested and prosecuted. Why should the standards be lowered because he was wearing a police uniform?

The police COULD have arrested the 1st guy WITHOUT grabbing his neck and smashing his head against the vending machine - and the whole violent incident would have been avoided! Equally, PC Thug COULD have held his temper and refrained from kicking that guy in the face and stamping on his head. He COULD have refrained from stamping on the leg and punching the other guy, who had his hands on his head and was kneeling on the floor as instructed!

The offending officer was NOT being threatened, nor in any danger at all. There can be NO justification for a police officer to kick anyone in the face and stamp on his head - EVER! SO many of the comments below see the racial origins of the men as a justification for what happened. Some believe the events BEFOREHAND make it ok. Perhaps they would be happy for the police to shoot them dead because they were Muslims, or as REVENGE for what they had done. Is that REALLY what we want from our police? Would they welcome the same behaviour by police officers against their family or friends?

It started when the face-kicking, head stamping officer grabs the man by the neck and slams his head against the vending machine. The UK population had the chance (which they won't get again for some 4 or 5 years) to 'clear our swamp', and make changes - and they blew it! During the run-up to a General Election, all politicians go through the 'laundry' of their opponents, pointing out anything dirty. However, if the electorate in this country is stupid enough to vote for those same parties, who have betrayed the UK previously, e.g. the early years of the Tory Govt, involving the 'austerity' period, to rectify the exorbitant spending of the previous Labour Govts. The mis-handling of the Covid pantomime. The betrayal of the Brexit agreement and the fisheries policy, etc, etc. If they choose one of these incompetents, expecting anything other than more of the same or worse, then they deserve all they get! NOW is the time to make a change! Reform are the only party showing regard for the interests of Britons, and respect for the electoral system, advocating for proportional representation. Another 5 years of the crap from either Tory or worse still Labour governments, will definitely make the situation irreparable!
