When the Taliban banned the cultivation of opium poppies in 2001, the US invaded Afghanistan, re-established the harvest and made the country the heroin capital of the world, producing over 700 tons of heroin per year! It was then flown out by the CIA on cargo planes, leased from the US Forestry Service. Looks like they now want to make Ukraine the cannabis capital!
