So, despite Russia solidly repelling the Ukrainian counter-offensive, according to Kiev and the Western MSM, "Russia panicked" and blew up the dam. Why would Russia sever the water supply to the ZNPP, sever the water supply to Crimea, flood the defences they've just built, losing equipment and ammunition in those trenches, knowing that most of the flooding would be on their side of the river? Since Russia could easily defend the road over the power plant dam for miles and it is one of the few remaining crossing points for Russia on their continuing advance, why would they hamper themselves by destroying it?
