  2. dean mushtuk SARS and MERS were not eradicated by exposure - less than 1% of the population of even the worst hit countries were infected. Both those viruses were contained and brought under control by simply isolating those infected.

  8. M eh No one "invented" herd immunity. It's been known to be effective for at least a hundred years . Edward Jenner for example in 1798 developed the first smallpox vaccine with this goal in mind and mothers used to hold measles and chicken-pox parties so their kids caught the disease. It's worked for polio, smallpox, many other diseases. What's your objection?
