9:20-9:40 am Kristen Dempewolf saw Scott at home
In early January Kristen Dempewolf called in to the police tip line and said that she was walking through the park between 9:00 and 9:30 on the morning of December 24 and she did not see Laci there. She also said that as she was walking down Covena between 9:20 and 9:40, she saw Scott standing in the bed of his pickup truck. She typically heard a dog barking when she passed that house, but there was no barking that day. She saw an older white utility van parked across the street from the Peterson's. She also said she saw Scott loading something into the back of his pickup truck, but does not remember what it was. Scott said he wrapped two patio umbrellas in a blue tarp to take to the warehouse for the winter months. Scott still had the umbrellas in his pickup late that night when he was interviewed by Detective Brocchini. Scott told Brocchini that he forgot to take them out at the warehouse.
Kristen Dempewolf, age 33, with shoulder-length brown hair and a mid-sized brown dog, which is not a golden retriever, may have been walking her dog that morning, and may be the pregnant woman the witnesses saw. Police investigators conducted a "cognitive interview where hypnosis techniques were used" on Kristen because she couldn't remember for sure having walked her dog that day. The hypnosis was intended to help her remember "exactly when and where she walked her dog on Christmas Eve." The police were satisfied that these eye-witnesses saw either Kristen or another pregnant woman on Christmas Eve morning, not Laci. Another neighbor, Tammy Thomas, believes it's unlikely a witness could mistake Kristen for Laci, and she claims Kristin is a blonde, not a brunette like Laci; Kristen's dog looks nothing like McKenzie; and Kristen always takes her 2-year old daughter with her when she walks her dog.
The prosecution could not present a single witness that could have have been mistaken for Laci that day.

@reneenayfabnaynay5679 you are lying.
LACI DID KNOW ABOUT THE BOAT. Brocchini excised the report about two witnesses who had seen Laci at the warehouse days before.
He certainly was not fleeing if he was heading North. His clubs were taken by police months prior.
He didn't make five anchors. Read the testimony from Hendee.
GERAGOS: At the time you thought Ah-hah, I've got some evidence, because the pitcher fits in there, right?
HENDEE: Yeah.
GERAGOS: All right. And that was part of the, it kind of led you to see those circles on the trailer, too, didn't it?
HARRIS: Objection.
GERAGOS: I mean, you thought,
JUDGE: Wait, wait, wait. One at a time. Sustained. Argumentative.
GERAGOS: Okay. Well, your idea was that this, the anchor, was made in this, the pitcher?
HENDEE: That's what we thought.
GERAGOS: And then from there you extrapolated that the pitcher was on the trailer, and therefore, if it was in four locations, there must have been four of these, right?
HENDEE: We felt that was a possibility.
GERAGOS: Okay. You thought it was more than a possibility; you searched the Bay 22 times looking for these, right?
HENDEE: Exactly.
GERAGOS: Okay. And it turns out at the end of the day the pitcher never made it, right?
HENDEE: Right.
He was more forthright about admitting he was mistaken about the anchor being a perfect fit for the pitcher.
GERAGOS: Okay. And as it was on the trailer, he was taking this item, the concrete, right?
HENDEE: Yes, sir.
GERAGOS: The anchor, and he was holding it like this?
HENDEE: Yes.
GERAGOS: As it was inside, right?
HENDEE: Yes.
GERAGOS: And it was his and your opinion that it was a perfect fit?
HENDEE: Mistakenly so.
GERAGOS: Tell the jury why that was mistakenly so.
HENDEE: Because it was looked at by a concrete expert who determined that this mold was not made in this pitcher.
It took a concrete expert to tell the police that the above anchor did not come out of the pitcher pictured below. The police later found a painters bucket at Home Depot that the anchor fit into – exactly like Scott said. Loose concrete was also found next to their driveway, just like Scott said.
Steven Geblar was the expert and he even trained the States expert.
So quit telling lies like a child.
So if he told three people he was golfing then why did he tell police and everyone else he was fishing and leave a recorded message to Laci. Very clear he said he was leaving Berkeley. Also stopped for gas and gave the marina ticket to police.
Of the dozens of people that Scott spoke with on the 24th and 25th after Laci went missing, there were only three people who testified that Scott told them he had been golfing that day. The first was Amie Krigbaum, a neighbor across the street. The second was Terra Venable, who lives with Amie Krigbaum and allegedly heard the same instance of Scott saying he was fishing. The third was Harvey Kemple, Gwen Kemple's husband.
"Harvey testified that he told his wife and multiple others that Scott told him that he'd gone golfing on December 24th . However, no one testified that Harvey had told them that. Harvey did not tell the police until June of 2003 that Scott told him that he'd been golfing, despite the fact that Harvey knew his wife had been told by Scott that he was fishing and the police were publicly trying to corroborate Scott's alibi for December 24th . Harvey Kemple also testified that he saw Scott lose his temper once and slam the lid to their barbeque. Scott and Laci's barbeque didn't have a lid. And finally, Harvey testified that he was told that Scott had been hanging out at the Del Rio Country Club while Laci was missing. When asked who told him that, he identified Dennis Tobin and a Country Club employee named Stephanie. Detective Grogan testified that when they followed up on Harvey's claims, they found that Dennis Tobin never saw Scott at the club while Laci was missing and there was no employee named Stephanie. So with Harvey Kemple's credibility in question, that leaves two people testifying to one instance of Scott saying that he had been golfing on December 24th . Unlike Harvey, Amie Krigbaum did tell police in late December that Scott said he had been golfing that day. It is unclear when Terra Venable first told the police that she heard Scott say he'd been golfing."
