  2. A number of Allan Kardec type spiritists hold the belief there's a limited number of "actual souls" and the rest is, for use of a modern term, "NPCs". I remember reading about this in 2005 but don't remember the book.

  4.  @JDelafose  I don't understand the question. The idea is everyone has a soul, it holds that if reincarnation is real many people would be waiting. 1 soul = 1 person.

  5. @JDelafose  I think the confusion here is that souls do not mean memories. In most beliefs, souls are kinda free will engines. In most beliefs, you remember your previous life when you pass on, but your body has no access to the memories of your soul. You could think of the body as a user account with no admin privileges, that will get wiped eventually, but the supervisor OS remains. The thing with all of this, is that almost by definition we don't have reproducible worldly evidence of souls existing. In most beliefs, part of that is the point; for example the earth as a school for souls.
