  3. hellterminator I'm pretty sure there's undocumented features out there that Microsoft not only keeps but emulates for backwards compatibility. This could well become an exception, but "undocumented features" are commonly relied upon when people need a quick hacky solution.

  4. hellterminator But Microsoft does get hands dirty with virus protection. Not only their Defender product, but also the Malware Removal Tool that's issued in Windows Updates. I think the fact that this bug got a name and press coverage could push them to do it.
