  1. Your "CS student" view of vectors is a bit rudimentary IMHO. Maybe in the 80s people just stuck unrelated numbers into a list and called it a "vector", but today things like that would be variables with unique names (of course, vectors in one way or another e.g., variables being in hash tables, because everything a computer does can be viewed as calculations on long lists). You could have used the example of 3D transformation matrices...
