  1. You must be confused. The type C port is always soldered, on any device. That's how it works. That's how all other ports work, too. What's bad is soldering RAM or SSDs in machines where a socket makes perfect sense. But even that is not as bad as hardware lock chips where even soldering isn't enough to change a part.
