  1. It's funny how obvious this is in hindsight, as many of the things Dr. K says. Indeed, some things we do will never "pay off", like doing taxes, but are necessary regardless, and some others, like listening to an aunt's story, are actually not necessary. We know, but "the brain" doesn't. So it tells us "you're tired" to both.
