I guess pedantic posh designers in France don't have the option of using French to sound more sophisticated.

I also hate the "cold white" LEDs! These are usually 6500K, but there exist 4000K ones (warm is 3000K) which I use when I want "white" light. 6500K is depressing. By the way some smartphones (like mine) have a filter that removes the 60Hz/50Hz flicker (selectable). Dunno how it works, it can't be doing FFT filtering to the whole image in real-time at 4K, can it? Maybe it scans the sensor at just the right rate and adjusts brightness with a gradient overlay?

Andrew_koala Some brands are stylized in all caps. Not all. And everybody can understand "Yamaha", no need to make the name stand out from the text.

3ft cords are the reason for some of my extension cord use.

I suggest a middle ground solution. A right triangle freezer. Ok jokes aside, wouldn't it be better to have glass on the fridge doors? So that when you're binge-watching the sandwich channel, you don't take cold air out. On its own a glass door is wasteful, but it could affect how people use the appliance to a net benefit.

@TechnologyConnections Thanks a lot for the clarification! After some reading, it seems the first copper foil PCB was fittingly for a radio, in 1943.

Paul Gascoigne that sounds gorgeous, never thought of looking for 2000K ones!

The "radioactive boy scout" David Hahn could not have made his homemade neutron source without the americium from smoke alarms. We need these, for the nuclear badges :)

I thought these were for putting a lock! Saw a lock made for that, I guess industrial equipment that has protocols.

What if he trained for years just for this "no effort November" as the ultimate flex?

There should be a hardware switch for webcams/microphones as a default feature.

I don't get why it "had" to be slow. Couldn't some different compound respond better to a very narrow frequency of light? Could you not make it so the drive moves freely and not just in a spiral? Either way, I never cared much for the speed of the burning process. I even liked how long it took to burn a CD at 2x, because it "burned better" (or so I thought).

It's the Raycon Nord VPN: Shadow Legends of air conditioning.

It's funny how, despite the presence of much better image and audio formats, even a nerd like me still goes for JPEG and MP3. It just works anywhere and it's good enough at high quality setting.

Yeah, we miss the engineer guy. I'm still watching your video though!

Arguably, any billboard is light pollution.

5:31 - wait, that's what it looked like? Was the printed circuit board not invented then? That capacitor at the left is almost touching the chassis! Speaking of capacitors, they look just like modern ones!

I like the terms softsub/hardsub. More clear and descriptive than "closed captions"

I have to mention some LEDs say the same temperature but they look different. In fact, the number is no science - if you look at them with a spectrum analyzer it's not one frequency but many. I say this because some 3000K LEDs are glorious but you can't know from a fact sheet. Easy way to see this is to go to a physical shop.

This might be an "old" video but I feel compelled to comment on how much effort you put into it. Amazing! And what a clever way to simulate what was happening. You basically used a sound recorder and Audacity as an oscilloscope, too.

What about microwaving? I can just fill a cup and microwave that.

Fun fact: the Beta blocker is also called "the Chad".

Is it possible to get a Kindle-like display that takes HDMI or something? Alternatively, is it possible to make a full Kindle into just a display?

Mode 2 was used in PS1 games. Also who should I blame for "mebibytes"? Seagate? WD? 😅

The first 8K broadcast in Japan was 2001: A Space Odissey, which was done in 70mm.
