  1. When I was 65 ten years ago I had both knees replaced. Then eight years ago I had both shoulders replaced. I had no one at home to help me after surgery. I made sure the doctor kept me in the hospital 3 days so I qualified to go to a rehap facility (nursing home). Medicare will pay for 21 days then my supplement insurance paid for a number of days. While there I received rehap 5 days of 7 of the week. Which required no travel time for me. Yes the raise I received on social security gets eaten up by increases by Medicare, supplement health, house insurance and various other expenses. I go without a/c. It's depressing.
