  2. AC is also pretty important to control temperature and humidity, two elements that can be rather ... disruptive to those large bags of powdery stuff that tends to go "boom" if it gets too hot, and not go "boom" the way you want it to if it gets damp.

  3. Possibly at the time, shipborne scouting aircraft and heavy AA were priorities. Naval designers didn’t foresee the incredible improvement in radar and proliferation of naval aviation that occurred after 1941.
