@Cailus3542 14” gun firing AP at the range of that battle could have penetrated SoDak’s belt - 9K yards is well below the inner ring of the immunity zone against 16” gunfire. More than “they were only 14 inch” was that Kirishima may have fired non-AP against SoDak, and those shells would not have penetrated at the ranges of the battle.
