  3. 5:07 it sure seems like there was an extended period wherein a navy could choose many small guns that fired quickly but could not possibly penetrate an enemy vessel’s main armor, or a few large guns that would visit utter destruction upon any enemy vessel, but that fired once every four minutes and would only hit an enemy vessel if they were tied up alongside the same pier.
