I support the end goal—NRA long ago stopped being about supporting individual Americans whose sport, hobby or whatever involved firearms, and about helping gunmakers sell more product. But the timing of this is terrible. By all accounts, T’rumps campaign has been struggling to find the sort of messaging against Biden that they developed against HRC, and which served them so well, four years ago. This is exactly the rallying cry they’ve been unable to create on their own.
