Exactly. The bike wasn't stolen from your child. Only the owner of the bike has a claim to it. Reparations for anyone who was a slave.
9
Exactly. Japanese who were actually IN internment camps were given reparations. Just like people who were actually slaves should be given reparations.
6
I been saying ya'll. You want reparations, how bout a free class in personal responsibility.

@thetotalpackage2005 Where does David say there was no Trans Atlantic Slave Trade? Your reply is a perfect example of not being able to read and comprehend... allowing your "feelings" to create a strawman argument.
3
The "kings and queens" were the ones doing the selling, so not many.
3
Exactly! It ain't enough to be equal, you want to be the master.

Don't know where or when you all went to school, but this is the exact the history that was taught to me in Mississippi Public Schools in the 1970's/80's as well as to my kids today. Perhaps the confusion is between what is being taught and what is being learned.

Have watched Hours of his Pretendian Lectures. Can buy into some Native Indians having some African blood based on Mansa Abu Bakr's voyage, so what he preaches Might apply to 1 out of every 100,000 Black American families. But to deny Trans Atlantic Slavery, call Frederick Douglass fictional, or claim Abe Lincoln was Black is a stretch too far. To even Start being believable, one would think the first thing Dane would post is His Own family tree showing original Cherokee Heritage.

Thank you for confirming this history is in Florida textbooks. I was beginning to think the World History textbook I have of my father's, the history books we used in the 1980's and the textbooks my kids study from today were the only books containing this information.
2
@IndianNana Rewatch the video for most of your answers! 30 to 80,000 people a year for over 100 years. 20% death rate for sailors as well as slaves...
2
@kidgrebo1 Evidence of Pre-Columbian Africans in America. Olmec heads, pyramids, African gold spear heads, African-style textiles, Mansa Abu Bakr's voyage, root origin of native words, actual descriptions of what natives looked like by European explorers...
2
@airenmills5779 It was 40 acres and a mule per family not per person and you still have to divide by the number of descendants.
2
@mommateewhatsgoodtaylor6709 You are being misled. Florida does teach American and World History just like every other state. It is CRT that teaches hate and division that they are opposed to. The information in this video is in my father's World History textbook from the 1950's. Is in the textbook I studied from in the 1980's. As well as the textbook my kids study from today. If you don't believe me, get a copy of the textbook you used in school and see for yourself.

If Eliyah was a share cropper then he Did Not own the land.

Because they recognized even though it wasn't great, it was still the better option. Liberia was formed in 1821 but only 11,000 African Americans ever moved there. Our ancestors CHOSE the benefits and disadvantages of staying in America over going to Africa despite the "social contract" they were entering into. Today the average income is $5500 per year in Liberia and $750 yearly for all of Africa. That's why people calling for "Reparations" makes no sense. True reparations would actually bankrupt Black Americans.

What was done to you my brotha? Was you a slave? You want to be offended on behalf of someone else against someone who didn't do nothing to you. Historical Tragedy yes, but If it weren't for slaves being brought to America, you'd be doing your bitchin from a grass hut in Africa, wishing someone had brought your ancestors to Merica.
1
Since there are no living slaves, they want Reparas for injustices After the end of slavery. OK. If all things would have been automatically Equal, blacks would have started Their Own businesses that would have hired whites. So are White People owed reparas for being denied positions in hypothetically owned black companies? OR if the average wage in West Africa is $5000 a year and the average ADOS earns $50,000 a year, does the ADOS owe America $45,000 a year in reparations for Also being the beneficiary of slavery?

It was 40 acres and a mule for Each Family not per person and your maths is all wrong. 400,000 acres at $10 an acre plus 10,000 mules at $20 each. An 1865 dollar is worth $19 today. Divided by 48,000,000 descendants. Comes out to be $1.67 per Black American.

I saw a t-shirt once that said, "I wish Grand Pa would have picked his own damn cotton" another said, "Slavery wasn't worth all the Maintenance on the obsolete farm equipment"
1
Sounds like you just learned a new word. Only original slaves were Diasporas. If that's the way You see yourself, then maybe You should ask for a ticket back to the Motherland as your Reparations and let the rest of us enjoy the benefits our ancestors sacrificed for. You want action? How bout Leave, cause your Logic is setting us back Decades.

Saying that a people are incapable of economically recovering from an event that happened 150 years ago sounds pretty racist. If you don't feel "equal", no amount of money is going to fix that.
1
When a local tribe was defeated, the leader or "king" offered his people as slaves in tribute to the victor. So "we be kangz" may have happened sometimes, but no.
1
Can't say numbers but check out the history of Mansa Abu Bakr on Spira Boats channel, it's from a boat builder's perspective rather than political.
1
There is a nuanced difference in not learning something and something not being taught. Get a copy of the textbook used in YOUR high school World History class. It will contain all the info in this video.

@mikejones-wn1sw Nothing but facts, Mike Jones. While so many others preaching nothing but feelings.
1
Was it stolen, because records show did he abandoned the land and it was sold for back taxes. Also Miriam Ferguson was the first female Governor of Texas.
1
No, your ancestors would have to deal with the consequences. Just like you have to deal with the consequences (benefits) of your ancestors choosing to stay in American when they were freed.
