He was first an indian nationalist muslim thats the time he wrote"tarane-e-hind( sare jahan se acha)" then he completely transformed and started thinking of himself as just a muslim who was by chance born in india thats when he wrote " tarana-e- milli" which focuses on the concept that ummah(‍‌‌islamic brotherhood) is the highest priority others things only come next for a muslim lastly he came up with a conclusion that muslims are not at all indians and there own thing whcih require their own nation!!!
