@RayshiaRoman also what u were sold in the name of islam was very different from the real islam not to mention they knew they couldnt sell the real cultish islam to indonesia because it was extremely backward and primitive hence they mixed it with indigenous beliefs and little by little increased the islamic element within it

@RayshiaRoman bali became a tourist destination only in the 80s and during the dutch time it was literally a warzone!! indonesians converted to islam due to diplomatic and economic reasons it had nothing to do with their liking of religion . also indonesian hinduism was and still is very different from indian hinduism and can be considered native because Its basically hinduism+ buddhism+ lndigenous beliefs of indonesia.

@RayshiaRoman indonesia has a very dilute form of islam and that too mixed with local practices and many also follow the syncretic form of islam hence u get such a tolerant indonesian version of islam.

@RayshiaRoman indonesia if completely accepts the true islam it would be like aceh, without islam it would look like bali which one would u choose as a human i dont think its hard to choose which is better.

@RayshiaRoman its not about liking and all about power u guys were lucky that u got the dutch ( the best of all colonisers ) had it Been the portuguese or the Spanish u would be singing "hail mother mary" . even after getting colonised by the dutch the people who were least interested in spreading their religion, indonesia still has a significant christian minority this itself proves that indonesians in general favoured their bwnefits over any religion.

@pustakarileks7404 kejwan and javanese hinduism co existed untill islam arrrived for 2000 yrs . The best way to understand their relationship is japan Majority of Japanese for the past 2000 yrs follow both shinto and buddhism simultaneously thats how kejawan and javanese hinduism worked in java . Thats just how indian philosophies work in general they syncretise they nvr eliminate the native beliefs!!

Both also have the same holy langauge" old javanese" Kejawan has memayu hayuning bawono the exact concept exists in hinduism with the name tri hita karana So no u cant term them as different they r related and were practiced together by all javanese before islam arrived..

Exactly thats The point i was trying to make was before hinduism came java looked like australian aboriginals thats how primitive they were the transition from tribal to civilisation happened when indonesian hinduism was founded by our ancestors.

@pustakarileks7404 the javanese ,sundanese ,balinese,malay all these identites were formed only during that era. Thats why take even the oldest of.oldest inscriptions of this language u will find huge amount of bahasa sanskreta vocabulary in it
