Then will you be our friend? Fast forward to Australia on their knees begging Trump for an exemption to his steel tariffs. Pathetic. NZ has an independent foreign policy and that’s how it should stay.

You really think the US and Australia would allow China to “invade” (??? Is this what you think is going to happen?) A resource rich island in the South Pacific as you say. Do you really think they would allow China anywhere near us? THEY need US. Not the other way around. Don’t get it twisted.

  7. I have many more Chinese friends here in NZ than I do American friends. There are many more Chinese here than Americans too. So give me a break with this “our values align more with the US than China” nonsense. That ship sailed in the 1970’s.
