@dc14522 buses aren’t an option where you live? Why? Sounds to me like THAT is the issue that needs solving, not more cars on more roads requiring more and more infrastructure, charging stations, car parking, road building to support them. Not to mention the safety issues involved with autonomous cars interacting with pedestrians, children, trucks stopping to unload in unusual places, etc. Tesla’s may communicate with each other, but they can’t communicate with school kids crossing the road. Your fantasy of tidy, orderly roads of “ride sharing teslas” is a fantasy because trucks delivering goods to obscure locations will always be required, they will always need to stop in random places to unload, kids will always be walking to school, crossing roads, often making mistakes as children do. Courier drivers stopping to deliver packages, etc. It’s a fantasy - a fantasy drummed up by a Tesla marketing team specifically to sell Teslas to gullible futurists.
