  1. Riddle me this: is ridiculousness closer to Tosh.0 than Tosh.0 is to Chapelle’s show? That frames my entire comment Literally so far from the same show. That’s the misunderstanding that seems almost blatant here. Key & Peele were significantly closer to Chapelle show than these two shows. Ridiculousness is not something you put on to watch as your main entertainment. You play it in the background, when bored, as a secondary or tertiary option, when falling asleep. The problem is Tosh.0 didn’t want to be that and that’s logical. But it’s not a show you can watch in background and fails to compete with shows people view as a primary option. A demo Tosh was competing more with would be like Nathan for you. Which is likely the stronger pull as the intentionally watched program. The fact is neither show was particularly game breaking. But Tosh thought itself to be a higher show. Which is why it lost on every fiscal metric. Rob knows what his show is. He never pretended it was challenging or even great. But the volume he does can’t be beaten . If Tosh was a better show it could overcome that but it simply can’t. Tosh was a “better” show. No doubt about it. But we’re talking about network decisions. You’d be delusional to call Tosh a “great” show but in the end, they played to different markets with different expectations. I think Tosh saw Rob as a tourist.. and he was. But he did expose delivering 80% of the entertainment value for something was putting significantly more work into was more than enough is probably frustrating but undeniable. Such is entertainment. I think it forced Tosh to see his show isn’t what he thinks it might be. It’s a contrast to shows like “Atlanta” and “Dave” which is an imperfect example but as a category of show get compared . Something glover gets very upset by and in that scenario he’s correct. This is not like that. “Dave” as a show illuminated how hard that genre is and how much better Atlanta is. Ridiculousness reveals that Tosh.0 isn’t that far out of reach for a non comedian. When you talk about “trolling” you missed that one entirely lol Rob wasn’t making fun of Tosh for writing jokes . He was trolling him bc he didn’t have to. Rob did understand the pull of Tosh. That’s what he leaned into ya goof lol Tosh being a purist is what drove this. Rob didn’t care. Bc again, he’s done this before and understands networks. I don’t care for either of them. But for some reason you framed all this in a way that isn’t realistic. You made it one dimensional. That’s not how the world works. Tosh knew he couldn’t beat the formula of this show . Someone like Chapelle show would massacre Tosh’s ratings bc the result was vastly better.
