  1.  @tonywilson4713  Rick Snyder didn’t walk because he’s wealthy. He walked because of painfully detailed blunders by Michigan AG Nessel. Not to mention plausible deniability. It’s a source of irritation when people speak platitudes about an entire country, whether my own or otherwise. You can take issue with how companies insulate executives with mid level managers who drive top down decisions. But just blanket saying the rich always walk is a lack of understanding of the US justice system. It’s a statement on the idea of a country stemming from the ignorance of its legal system. Now you can also argue the system is set up that affords the wealthy an opportunity to successfully navigate deals that are otherwise not available to those without even close to those assets it requires to afford them. That’s true. But that’s a different sentence than “the rich walk bc they are rich”. You do know everyone on the other sides of these benches are equally wealthy and in the top 1% right? Our current AG has a net worth over $25 million. Wouldn’t it increase his power and influence convicting very powerful ppl undermining his authority? Letting rich ppl “walk” diminishes the power of ppl on the other side. Therein lies the problem with the blanket statement. There’s plenty to object to in the judicial system. Ppl skirting convictions bc “money” is just not one of them. It’s far more complicated than that. Flint is perfect proof. They still delivered pending indictments . They didn’t do that under false pretense knowing it would fail due to litigation errors.
