I think it’s funny haha buzzfeed literally gave them the creative space and freedom to pursue the idea. They paid them to experiment and push the content. They paid for the assets and creative design work. They paid for travel and a fair wage even when the video failed or didn’t work and they worked out the kink. They did that for YEARS until the show became a high performer. They shows IP obviously belongs to the Channel it was created on. These two took everything to their own channel and literally run it the same way buzzfeed did emulating their business model and programmatic approach, and quickly found out there’s benefits to a big media house behind you given their huge back lash. They just picked up where they left off here. That wouldn’t be possible without buzzfeed. Anyone who can understand that has never made media or content in anyway. It would be a dream come true to have a media house with cash actually fund your ventures, win or lose. This is their show. They have a right to air it. This version of the show is the best version: they paid for all the effort and invested in the product, why not? Somehow being forced to defend buzzfeed lol
