  1. Disagreed with the last few horror reviews in my unsolicited, non-expect opinion but you nailed this one mate. TRYING to be a “smart” body of work instead of earning it with clever writing packing effective pay offs almost always leaves you with a pedantic plot lacking clear motivations. They fumble the use of their time theme - which I knew you already don’t like when writers depend on themes too much. Totally agree. The late flashbacks brought me back to the bull shit post-GOT episode “recaps” where dumb and dumber lay on their plot armor apologizing for shitty writing. I nearly all but recovered. Thank you Bly for the relapse
